The Tournament
Hi, welcome to the page for Carleton’s Fall Lacrosse Tournament. This tournament will occur at Carleton College on November 2nd and would coincide with a girls lacrosse tournament. We will be using Carleton’s terrific fields, so you can be assured that the field quality will be outstanding. These games would offer a fantastic opportunity for both new and experienced players alike. If you have any questions, please contact Robert Yeagle.
Format:
The format would be that of a round robin. The games will be 1 hour long with a 15 minute transition period in between games. Teams will play 4 games on Saturday. Furthermore we are trying to have short turnaround between games so that all teams can drive down in the morning, and back after the tournament. This will allow other teams to save money on lodging.
Teams:
At this moment the teams that seem to be coming are Dordt College, St. Olaf College, Iowa State University, Carleton College, and Gustavus College.
Referees:
We will be having 2 UMLOA certified referees at each game. These refs are the same caliber used by the MCLA and are sure to provide a terrific atmosphere to the games.
Tournament Fee:
The tournament fee will $350. Paying for the 2 refs per game and getting the fields, this is the lowest we can possibly make it. We are committed to making this tournament inexpensive for its participants so we will be keeping the tournament fee as low as possible. With no lodging, minimal transportation costs, and free lodging, we feel this tournament is reasonably priced for the high level teams/ facilities that it entails.
Checks should be made to “Carleton College,” and the memo line should read “Fall Lacrosse Tournament.”
Overall:
This tournament could offer teams a fantastic opportunity to play some lacrosse in the fall and because of its proximity it would be a inexpensive alternative to traveling across the country for a tournament. The teams coming to the tournament are all very solid, and I am sure much great competition is to come.
Location:
The location will be at Carleton College (3 Oaks Drive, Northfield, MN). It is located South of the Twin Cities (only a 40 minute drive) and North of Rochester.
